Fashion superstar John Galliano sent out a very varied Dior collection at Paris´ Tuileries Gardens with all of his trademark drama.
Pleated and punched black and brown leathers, chunky knits and hunting tweed were offset by romantic nude and peachy chiffons, ruffles, feathers and fringing. In true Galliano style, this was one of the week´s most theatrical shows.
Models added dramatic flourishes at the end of the runway and Galliano put on a little performance of his own in the finale. Textures ranged from knit and mohair to lace and chiffon, adding to the contrast.
Big hair and hats, contrasted by girly plaits, pinky cheeks and glossy lips, provided the finishing touches to this earthy but romantic collection which drew inspiration from both sides of the Channel, past and present.
Galliano has designed for icons such as the late Diana, Princess of Wales and Madonna, and worked with the greatest supermodels of recent years including Kate Moss and Erin O´Connor.
