The edgy British designer sent along the four sides of the runway rectangle plenty of his trademark black in slick leather and textured rubber, remaining faithful to his signature sculptured shapes, and with just the slightest of nods to his previous somewhat wacky inflatable work.
Androgenous models, foreheads misted with black, showed off from all angles the structures - especially in the collars - which have helped to build Pugh´s reputation. While the essence remains the same, however, it seems that the designer´s latest work is rather more wearable than some of his previous pieces.
Until now, Pugh´s success had been largely limited to the catwalk, but now it seems that he will soon be a commercial success as well as a critical one. With a growing army of celebrity fans wearing his pieces, it should be hard to fail.
