State Minister and EU Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış says "We are doing our best legally and politically to get our rights."
Following an efficent foreign policy lately, Turkey is pushing the bar high up. Next target is to totally lift visas with European countries. At the first stage, Turkey will demand visa tolerance for certain professions. After that, efforts will increase to open the gates of a visa-free Europe for Turkish citizens.
This issue has become the number one topic in negotiations. Turkish Foreign Ministry has set up a commission, which will be led by Deputy Undersecretary Ayşe Sezgin.
State Minister Egemen Bağış also said that work is about to be concluded on the new "biometric passports" that will be introduced in a few months´ time.
Bağış said "We are in collaboration with Interior Ministry. In June 2010, citizens will be able to get their new passports loaded with digital information."
