Davutoglu is in Cairo
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is in Egypt on a formal visit, met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Sharm el Sheikh.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry says Davutoglu and Mubarak discussed a wide range of issues, from Iraq to talks between the various Palestinian groups.

Davutoglu told Mubarak Turkey appreciates Egyptian efforts regarding Palestine and that Turkey was ready to help.

Officials say  Mubarak welcomed Turkish investments in his country and said the two countries should improve maritime transportation.

Davutoglu and Mubarak also talked about the Middle East peace process and ways to get talks between Israel and the Palestinians going again.

Davutoglu and his delegation proceed to Cairo later in the day to meet with Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and Foreign Minister Ahmed Gheit.
