LIKE MANY HOSPITALS - THE CANCER TREATMENT CENTERS OF AMERICA USES DOGS AS A FORM OF THERAPY FOR PATIENTS.
THE DOGS GO ROOM TO ROOM...
SOMETIMES PROVIDING A DIFFERENT DOSE OF MEDICINE DOCTORS CAN´T ALWAYS GIVE.

(people with animals have lower blood pressure and of course having high blood pressure can lead to all sorts of physical problems)

BUT WHAT´S UNIQUE AT THIS HOSPITAL IS THE *NUMBER OF PETS USED.
A TEAM OF EIGHT DOGS GO AROUND VISITING PATIENTS EVERY WEEK.

(We know, at least here in the west valley, that´s more than double the amount of therapy dogs that the other hospital out here have so we´re really happy to be able to bring these dogs here to bring up the moods of our patients)

THE HOSPITAL HAS NOT RULED OUT ADDING MORE DOGS IF DEMAND FOR PET THERAPY CONTINUES TO GROW.

(NAT POP OF TRICK)

AND FROM THE LOOK ON THE FACES OF PATIENTS - THE DOGS SEEM TO BE DOING THE TRICK.
COREY RANGEL - ABC15 NEWS.

ALL OF THE DOGS ARE EVALUATED AND CERTIFIED THROUGH A NATIONAL PET THERAPY AGENCY.
